Peter Birrell is the principal at CREA. With over 25 years of commercial property leasing and consulting experience, Peter’s background has provided him with a strong knowledge of market fundamentals and exemplary skills in procuring property. Peter has represented corporate Australia since the early 90’s and will always be regarded as one of the pioneers in the industry.

  • Associate of the Australian Property Institute (AAPI) - Land Economist
  • Certified Property Practitioner (CPP)

Michael Jackson is a Director of CREA with approximately 14 years experience in Commercial Real Estate. Michael is a Certified Practicing Valuer with a strong background in commercial valuations, accommodation procurement and lease negotiation services. Michael operates nationally and has represented a range of private and public sector clients.

The property industry, particularly the corporate occupancy sector, has changed dramatically in Australia over the past 15 years. It moved from predominantly smaller independent advisory firms to a larger number of mid sized independent firms. Then in the last six years there has been a shift to large, international firms as a result of global real estate providers gaining market share, and by the acquisition of small and mid sized independent firms.

No large or mid sized independent property advisory firm remains in Australia today.

The focus of the larger service providers is on maintaining market share. In particular their focus has been on growth of accounts and cross-selling to other business lines, not quality of advice being given.
